Established in 1982, coinciding with the inception of the hospital, it has consistently been at the forefront of providing exemplary radiological services. Initially, the department benefited from the expertise of both Nepalese and expatriate radiologists and sonologists. Over the years, it has expanded its services to include subspecialties, bringing in expertise from top institutions around the globe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our commitment lies in delivering high-quality radiological services and offering comprehensive, standardized training for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The faculty members are deeply engaged in numerous research projects at both national and international levels, advancing the field of radiology and contributing to medical science advancements.<\/p>\n<p>The department offers a comprehensive range of services, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;\"><strong>General X-ray<\/strong>: All types of X-ray<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;\"><strong>Fluoroscopy<\/strong>: All types of special investigations<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;\"><strong>Mammography<\/strong>: Digital mammography<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;\"><strong>Ultrasound<\/strong>: All types of sonographic investigations<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;\"><strong>CT Scan<\/strong>: 128 multislice CT<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;\"><strong>MRI<\/strong>: 1.5 T<\/li>\n<li style=\"margin-left: 0.5in;\"><strong>Interventional Radiology<\/strong>: Various interventional procedures in Neurology, Oncology, Gastroenterology, Hepatobiliary, Nephrology, Urology, Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology, Pulmonary, Orthopedics, and ENT.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Education and Training<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The department is actively involved in the education and training of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. The Radiology Residency program at PAHS started in 2018. This three-year program provides progressive training and aims to produce leaders in Radiodiagnosis and Imaging. Spotters are uploaded daily, with short cases on Friday and answers on Saturday. All residents are encouraged to participate actively.<\/p>\n<h4>Assessment<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Assessment methods for postgraduate students include formative assessment, summative assessment, and thesis. This competency-based program requires demonstration and documentation of competencies, evaluated through Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs). Residents must be certified in core competencies, including professionalism, patient-centered care, procedural skills, clinical reasoning, communication skills, scholarship, community orientation, and leadership.
